CREATION OF A SPECIES:
I was fairly afraid of insects, however my curiosity was a bit stronger so I would actively interact with insects I was sure wouldn't be able to do serious harm, like earthworms, ants, caterpillars, moths, etc. It’s when I held a cute little jumping spider that a seed was planted which would eventually become Buggamon.
I have been wanting to make some kind of Spider species for a bit, here you can see some of the earlier ideas. I wanted to make something that even people who didn't like spiders saw and thought " I guess it's kinda cute in a way "
While I'm 70% sure none of these are the first Buggamon doodle these are the early drawings before any subspecies or lore, in the beginning Buggamon were just big monster spider friends.
Trying out some poses to see how the body might move. Fun fact! Buggamons body was designed with fursuits in mind, I wanted to shape them in a way that seems suit friendly.
