The First Contact
What would come to be known as Genesis, was collected by the government. It stayed in custody for many years till the day it escaped, during its time there many different types of experiments were performed.
One of which was the core project to replicate Genesis’s unique properties into something safer to contain and study. The Traditional was born. While the Traditional was quite a success, trouble was stirring behind the scene among those incharge.
​One thing leading to another, emotions flaring, and expectations becoming too high for what was on hand at the time, this cocktail of problems led to the leaking of this species' existence.
The higher ups set a new plan in motion, to introduce what was probably their crowning achievement to the public as the future of “ pets and service animals” in order to continue the project under the guise of forwarding humanity's understanding in science. The public was split over the new species, some loved them, others feared them. Protests from both sides were fierce.
Genesis’s Blessings
50 years passed before Genesis made its escape and sought to end humanity for what was done to it. However just as it was about to truly wreak havoc upon the world the Traditional Buggamons stood up for their handlers making their cases for why it shouldn’t end the lives of all humans indiscriminately.
Because of Genesis’s instinctual love for what it sees as its grotesque children it gave into their pleas for mercy. Instead it gave humanity both its curses and blessings, to those on the side of its children, their blood was turned blue, to those against its children no changes occurred. It’s not until many years later was what Genesis did that day understood.
World Stage
Buggamon world lore is broken up into 3 “stages”.
First stage is our world with Buggamon in it.

Second stage is post-apocalyptic with some magic and new fearful critters born from the world altering phenomenons.
Third stage is pretty much cyberpunk with some of Second stage add-ins to the world still being present
Buggamon live in our world as it is now, they can be pets or live their own lives. Living among humans for the most part is pretty good. Buggamon in rural areas are more likely to be working animals while city life offers more independent living.
Stage 1
Stage 2
Post-apocalyptic time. What wasn't known back then was that Genesis had planted the seed for a new world, this was its curse to humanity.
Many phenomenons began to happen, pinkish fog would start to cover the world for the next 50 years, humans without blue blood would get ill if exposed for more than 2 hours.
In this time period not only would the world physically change but plants and animals as well.
Stage 3
Humanity rebuilds itself into the future, now having harnessed some of the phenomenons of the earlier stage. Buggamon play similar roles they did back in stage 1 but now are seen as revered guardians.
